Odd Page History ("this site") is a small, one-person archive of historical curiosities, curated by Eleanor Thorne. This page explains what information this site collects, and what it does not.
What is collected
When you visit a page, your browser sends standard request information to the host: your IP address, the page requested, the referring page if any, the time of the request, and a user-agent string. Server logs of these requests are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated. This site uses no user account system and requires no login.
What is not collected
This site does not run a mailing list and has no email signup form, so it does not maintain a contact list from visitors. It has no comment system at present. If you email archive@oddpagehistory.com, the site receives your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. That information is used only to reply to you. It is not sold, rented, or shared, and writing to the archive does not add you to any list.
Cookies and advertising
This site itself does not set first-party cookies to identify you across visits. If advertising is served on this site in the future, third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through this site, please contact the correspondence address and it will be removed.
Your rights
If you are in a jurisdiction, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, that grants residents rights regarding personal information, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information held about you. As described above, this site holds essentially no personal information about ordinary visitors, but if you have corresponded directly and would like that correspondence deleted, contact the archive and it will be done.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revision date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes, for example the introduction of advertising or a new analytics service, will be noted near the top of the page for a period after the change.
